'McComish v. Bennett:THE CITIZENS UNITED CORALLARY Stealing the democracy one law, one election at a time
Thanks to the conservative SC: Those who are not backed by huge caches of cash provided by those whose political agenda is to increase their wealth have no chance of matching the funding of those who are via public funds.
This Supreme Court with Read More… two justices for whom ethics violations are a way of life, whose chief justice is a ideologue whose vision is blocked by blinders, is in a very methodical manner dismantling the few protections that our electoral process has from robber barons.
THIS IS HOW DEMOCRACIES DIE.
Our democracy has always had elements of plutocracy, government by the rich or by their agents. That trend was fought by Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt most notably, but the power that wealth brings is hard to counter. Since Ronald Reagan our movement toward rule by haves of the have nots has become more entrenched. The last decade saw the most rapid transfer of wealth from the middle and lower classes to the rich since the 1920’s. We know how that ended.
But, this Supreme Court has accelerated the takeover of the government via kleptocracy, government by the thieves who are quite willing to steal election after election with high priced media creations and buys, with efforts to limit access to the vote, with law that undermines union and other worker organizaitons and pr campaigns that excoriate private and public unions as destroyers of the economy.’
—As long as people in this country continue to be more interested in who’s screwing whom in Hollywood, who is divorcing whom, and who is winning what tv talent show, this will keep happening.
Our democracy is no longer a democracy, and most people could not give a flying f#@k. But god bless America and let’s all fly our flag the highest we can. Is this really what patriotism is about?
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it”—Buddha
“Print will never die. There’s no substitute for the feel of an actual book. I adore physically turning pages, and being able to underline passages and not worrying about dropping them in the bath or running out of power. I also find print books objects of beauty.”—

Thank you for liking so many of my "Cover's Night" posts. Do you think I should do it again?
Very much so, I like covers. I know many people are extremely sensitive when someone covers one of their favourite singer/band songs. Not me, firstly I believe it is flattering that someone wants to sing the songs, secondly, it brings more fans to the original band and it is always great to hear new takes on songs.
